Emily ~ Kelso High School Senior January 15, 2012

Woo, look at this– TWO blogs in a week! I’m on fire! You know you love it! So– today, we have Miss absolutely beautiful Emily. I’ve known Emily for several years and had the immense pleasure of photographing her sister, Cassandra last year. We originally were going to start our session in Kalama, WA, but it was SO nasty outside, we decided to pop into the studio. While we were there, we saw the sun come out– so we decided to take advantage of the break in the sky. Instead of going to Kalama, we headed up to Castle Rock, WA to a little boardwalk on Silver Lake. We were only there a few minutes when a beautiful dusting of snow began to fall from heaven 😀 It was an extremely rare occasion not only to have it snow while we were in a session, but it was also rare that the sun was still shining bright. We took advantage of it all until we got pretty soaked by the snow. We decided to finish up our session at a later date, but I had to share some great photos with you. Emily is also the first High School Senior I have had in-studio since I opened it in December, so this was a real treat. We had a blast!! I can’t wait till our next session!! Like what you see? Happy New Year everyone! I’ve kind of lagged again on the posting front and I do apologize! I will try to do better. This week has been a busy one for me. Usually this time of year is a bit on the quiet side, especially when  you do most of your shooting outdoors, like I do. The Pacific Northwest is usually pretty wet during the winter months and having portraits taken in the rain isn’t always what people are going for (well, some do, but not most).

I got to thinking about how Valentine’s Day is coming up and I thought… hmmmmm…. I’d like to run a special…. but what? As I thought more and more about what Valentines Day means to a lot of us– it hit me— I want to hear your love stories!! I want to hear the touching, sweet, silly, sappy, weird, awesome, crazy, helarious stories that you have about you and your current flame. It doesn’t have to be how you met– it can be anything that you have lived thru together that has brought you even closer as a couple.

Mykaila– Mark Morris High School Senior — Longview, WA Senior Photogtrapher May 25, 2010

Twenty-ten Senior season is winding down. Pity, because just as it’s getting so beautiful outside, the season comes to an end. Fortunately, I got to capture the rich colors of the Washington Spring with Mykaila! I’ve known Mykaila’s mom for years– I used to work with her– so I was delighted that they chose me to take her Senior portraits! I probably don’t have to tell you that this session was fun. I don’t think I’ve had one that wasn’t!! Even though the Senior season is coming to a close for this school year, it’s never too early to think about having portraits taken for your soon-to-be Senior! Louis — Mark Morris High School Senior — Longview, WA Photgrapher May 1, 2010

The last time I remember seeing Louis, I was a senior in High School myself– probably with a camera tied around my neck, as was the norm then as well. He was like 6.  After getting over the ‘old feeling,’ we got down to business. Or so we thought. We got all the way out to our first location and I went to get my gear out of the back of my van and like an IDIOT, I forgot my camera!!!

Thankfully, I was dealing with some very graceful people! And thankfully Industrial Way is 50 MPH! I think that grace will go a long way for Louis, he’s been called to be a Youth Pastor! He will do a super job, THAT I am confident about 😀
